When looking for ways to gather coupons, one easy and readily available resource is the internet. These coupons, commonly called IPC (Internet Printed Coupon), or IP (Internet Printables), are available on numerous coupon and manufacturer’s websites and are becoming more and more available on a regular basis.

First, let's go over some basics that everyone should know before printing and using internet printed coupons. (IPC)

How Many Coupons Can I Print?

When printing an IPC, you are almost always allowed 2 copies per computer.  This means, if you have multiple computers, say, a laptop and a desktop, and only one printer, you can print four (4) copies of an IPC. The coupon activator you are asked to download when accessing these sites the first time you print is a program to monitor how many prints a coupon downloads, and also embeds the barcodes onto the coupon to allow them to be scanned by the stores.

Just remember, the number of coupons you can print is based on how many computers you have access to, not how many printers.

The exception to this rule is coupons that come in .pdf format. These coupons are usually published on a manufacturer's website and are limited. Any coupon in .pdf format can be printed as many times as you'd like (unless the coupon states otherwise).

How Do I Print Two Copies Of A Coupon?

This really depends on the site you are printing coupons from and your browser so we will cover the most common.

Printing coupons can use a lot of ink and paper once you start using them regularly so we are going to show you how to save the most money on both so you can print to your heart's content!

Recommended Printer Settings

First of all, you want to print coupons in black ink only. Save your color ink, as it is not necessary and is usually the most expensive ink. Stores that accept IPC accept black and white coupons as long as they are clear and readable. I’ll share my printer settings with you, yours should be similar but if you need help, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you with your printer’s settings.

Print QualityOptions: High, Standard, Fast and Custom – Mine is set to "Fast".  (Another common setting is "Fast Draft")

Print in Grayscale:  Mine is checked to print in grayscale.

My other printer has a choice that says “Print in Black Ink Only” and I have that checked. If I need to print something in color, I can just quickly change it until I’m finished.

One of the most frustrating error messages you will see is when the page says it is loading….and loading…and loading! It just seems to sit there and continually load with no end in sight. Another error frequently seen is a looped message to download and install the coupon activator even though you’ve already installed it (half a dozen times!). The reason for these errors are that the link code doesn’t match your internet browser. The good news is it is EASY to fix!

There are a variety of different browsers people use such as: AOL=(IE), Netscape, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. If you get an error message, or the page just continues to say loading, or asks you to download the coupon activator, check the url in your address bar and most likely you just need to change two characters to make a Firefox link work in Internet Explorer and vice versa.

TIP: If your link won’t work and you are any of encountering the errors listed above, simply change those two little letters according to the following to match your browsers.

• Internet Explorer: wi or vi
• FireFox: wg
• Safari(mac): xs
